Beijing - Chengde Trains

There are 7 pairs of trains travelling between the two cities witd daily departure. You may choose a suitable one to meet your travel schedule. The running hours ranges from 4 hours and 23 minutes to 6 hours and 37 minutes.

►Train from Beijing to Chengde

There 7 trains departing from Beijing to Chengde from every day. Two of them depart from Beijing North Railway Station and the rest departs from Beijing Railway Station. All trains from Beijing to Chengde arrive at

Recommended trains: Train No.K7711 and K7717 are the better ones for you to take. K7711 leaves in Beijing at 07:56 in the morning and arrives 12:31 at noon. K7717 leaves at 14:03 and arrive at 19:13. They both have a shorter running hour on the way and they operate in the day. 

►Train from Chengde to Beijing

Train from Chengde to Beijing departs from Chengde Railway Station and arrive at Beijing North Railway Station or Beijing Railway Station. The 7 trains departs from 04:16 in the early morning to 19:15 in the early evening.

Recommended trains: Train No.K7712 is recommended to take. It departs at 07:45 in the morning and arrives at 13:12 at noon. It also have a shorter running hours compared with the other trains.

Notes for  Taking Train in China

1. Booking an original train is easier than booking a passing-by train. Train ticket can be booked 20 days in advance at most. TCT highly recommended you to book train ticket in advance, in case to guarantee the availability of the ticket.

2. Generally, the seats on the train in China have tow types including soft seat and hard seat. Also, there are two kinds of sleeper seats on China's trains which are hard sleeper seat and soft sleeper seat. Hard sleeper seats are divided into upper hard sleeper, middle hard sleeper and lower hard sleeper (lower hard sleeper is the best); while soft sleeper seats are divided into upper soft sleeper and lower soft sleeper (lower soft sleeper is better). Traveling betwee Beijing and Chengde does not take too long, soft seat ticket would be fine for you.

3. In China, taking a train is a comparative cheaper way to cut down the travel cost. While correspondingly, the comfortable level is lower than by air.
Luggage: you need to take the luggages by yourself and keep an eye of them on transporting time, no luggage-checking service on the train
Carriage: it may be crowded when in the domestic travel seasons as well as summer holidays.

Tips for travelling to Beijing and Chengde

Best Time to Visit Beijing:
